Charleston workshop with Odin & Eline

Do you want to make your Charleston easier, fancier and more fluent? Would you like to expand your vocabulary and go beyond hand-to-hand and tandem in your Lindy Charleston? We will work on ease, fluidity, new figures and variation of figures you already know. Additionally, you will learn about the history of 30s Charleston. Join us for a day of kicking, hopping, turning and jumping!

This workshop takes place during the Jekerjazz weekend. If you would like to practice your newly learned skills in a cheerful environment, there will be occasion to dance to live music in the city center after the workshop.

This workshop is for dancers of intermediate level and up. You should be familiar with the 30s Charleston 8-count basic and be able to comfortably go into and out of hand-to-hand and tandem.

About the Teachers

Odin teaches Charleston and Lindy Hop in Utrecht. In class, you’ll get access to his extensive vocabulary of moves and creative approaches. He both leads and follows with ease, and loves applying his skills in either role. You can expect an inclusive atmosphere in Odin’s classes, filled with absurd metaphors that somehow make a lot of sense. When he is not on the dancefloor, you can find him weeding his allotment garden or cycling through Europe.

More Charleston on the dance floor, is Eline’s credo. In addition to Lindy Hop and Charleston, she enjoys Balboa and tap dance, and likes mixing them all together when improvising. Her dancing is playful and quick-footed – she loves it when the music gets faster. In class, she always make space for sharing the history of the dance. When she is not dancing, she is making art or looking at art in museums.
